Sabudana Thalipeeth Recipe: Thalipeeth is a famous food dish of Maharashtra. Fruitful Thalipeeth can be prepared from Sabudana by giving a little twist to Thalipeeth during fasting. Sabudana Thalipeeth is nutritious as well as looks very tasty. The month of Sawan has started and apart from Sawan Mondays, Shiva devotees also observe fast in Sawan. Ingredients to make Sabudana Thalipeeth
Sabudana – 1/2 cup
Potatoes boiled – 2
Water chestnut flour – 1/2 cup
Roasted Peanuts – 1/4 cup
Green chili chopped – 1 tsp
Green coriander chopped – 2 tbsp
Lemon – 1
oil – as required
Rock salt – as per taste

How to make Sabudana Thalipeeth
To make Sabudana Thalipeeth, first clean the Sabudana and soak it in water and keep it for 2-3 hours. In this time the sago will swell and become soft. Now put the sago in a strainer and leave it for some time so that the excess water of the sago gets removed. Meanwhile, boil the potatoes and chop green chillies, coriander leaves finely. After this, put peanuts in the pan and fry them on low flame.

When the peanuts cool down, grind them coarsely. Now put sago in a big bowl. Mash boiled potatoes and mix it. Then add water chestnut flour, coarsely ground peanuts, chopped green chilies, green coriander and mix everything well by mashing them. Now add rock salt and lemon juice as per taste and mix. Now make balls in equal proportion of the prepared mixture.

Now take a ball and wrap it in dry wheat flour and make a 4-5 inch round ball. Keep in mind that the thalipeeth is rolled a little thick. Now heat a nonstick pan/tawa on medium heat. When the griddle becomes hot, put some oil on it and spread it all around. After this, put the rolled thalipeeth on the griddle and roast it. After some time, pour some oil on the edges of the thalipeeth and flip it.
Now roast the sago thalipeeth in another way and apply oil on it. Keep roasting the Thalipeeth till it turns golden brown from both the sides. After this take it out in a plate. In the same way, roll out all the balls and bake the Sabudana Thalipeeth. Tasty Sabudana Thalipeeth is ready for fruit meal. They can be served with curd or raita.
